The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Department of Commerce announced a series of new export control measures on chips on the 7th, restricting U.S. companies from selling advanced chips and manufacturing equipment used for artificial intelligence (AI) and supercomputers to mainland Chinese manufacturers.
