RDC Introduced IAD 100BC Platform
2008-12-03
Hsinchu, Taiwan– Dec 09, 2008 – RDC (TAIEX:3228), today introduced new IAD (Internet Access Device) processor platform for consumer embedded-internet applications, codenamed “IAD 100BC”.
The RDC IAD (Internet Access Device) 100 series is a family of low-power 32bit microprocessor cores built for use as x86-compatible applications in internet access. The IAD 100BC includeds R3300 which incorporates CPU, DDR2 controller, NB, PCI, Fast Ethernet, SPI, and south bridge C6032. To deliver the best performance, the R3300 must be complemented of C6032.
Thanks to RDC power-optimized processor architecture, the RDC IAD100BC offers the advantages to affordable consumer electronics appliances, resulting in cost efficiency and long battery life. The saving system power time will allow more operations. The operating system compatibilities include WinCE, Linux, Windows XP, Windows Embedded XP, VxWorks OS. It also integrates 32KB write through L1 cache, direct map 128KB L2 cache, PCI 32-bit bus interface at 33 MHz, DDR2, ROM controller, IPC (Internal Peripheral Controllers with DMA and interrupt timer/counter included), Fast Ethernet, FIFO UART, USB2.0 Host and IDE controller. This new two-chip platform is idea for fanless computing system, helping drive the rapidly emerging categories of green and slimmer applications with x86-compatability.
